An intensive day of learning and practical experience
This one-day workshop provides participants with a sound understanding of wombat rehabilitation, biology, life history, behaviour and reproduction, both in the wild and in captivity.
The course is delivered through demonstrations and practical husbandry sessions covering animal handling, daily care and observation of wombats within Trowunna’s captive collection.
Participants will also gain a greater understanding of the critical role the zoological industry plays in education, research, rehabilitation and wildlife conservation.

Learn from Trowunna’s wildlife team
The workshop is led by one of Trowunna’s experienced wildlife keepers or, when available, Managing Director Androo Kelly.
Androo Kelly has extensive experience leading Trowunna’s wombat rehabilitation work and captive-management conservation programs.
Participants benefit from practical knowledge developed through the long-term care, rehabilitation and successful release of wombats.
Workshop activities are guided by current animal-care needs and welfare requirements, ensuring the wellbeing of the animals always remains the highest priority.
