‘Joey Club’ Junior Rangers Program

Conservation through Education

Over its 45 year history, Trowunna has operated as a conservation centre dedicated to Tasmanian wildlife protection, rescue, rehabilitation and education. The Sanctuary's philosophy has always been in support of science-based education in respect to wildlife conservation and environmental awareness and conservation through Education is of the highest importance to Trowunna to ensure the future of Tasmanian wildlife.

The next era of conservation education is now upon us with the introduction of Trowunna’s ‘Joey Club’ Junior Rangers Wildlife Conservation, Environmental and Cultural Program.

The Junior Rangers program is designed to open the door to experience-based education and provide the opportunity to interact and engage with our wildlife to promote conservation. For our little people, in particular, they are our future for environmental protection and will become the custodians of our wildlife and the ongoing survival of threatened species.

Trowunna believes strongly that it is essential to provide our children the opportunity to lay the foundation of their own love for our native species and instil a sense of responsibility to care for Tasmanian flora and fauna.
